The song 'Arrivederci Roma', composed by Renato Rascel in 1955, expresses a nostalgic farewell to the city of Rome, mentioning past experiences like having lunch, riding a carriage, an affair with a foreign girl and the famous Trevi Fountain legend. According to this, if you throw a coin into it, destiny would eventually force you to return to the city in the future.
It describes the typical idyllic experience of a traditional Roman lunch in the Castelli Romani (Roman Castles), a volcanic hill region just southeast of Rome, with fettuccine (pasta) and the famous white wine produced in this area.
Squarciarelli is the name of a historic zone located in the region of the Castelli Romani, 12 miles southeast of Rome. It also refers to a highly celebrated traditional tavern and restaurant in this area.
Via Margutta is a famous, quiet pedestrian street in the historic center of Rome, near the Spanish Steps and Piazza del Popolo. It is known for being the home place of many painters, sculptors, poets and artists, like Pablo Picasso and the director Federico Fellini. The street achieved global fame after appearing in the movie Roman Holiday in 1953.
The Trinità dei Monti is a famous Catholic church in Rome from the XVIth century, globally recognized for sitting at the very top of the iconic Spanish Steps. Its distinctive twin bell towers dominate the city's skyline, making it one of the most photographed landmarks in Rome's historic center.
